Period poverty is prevelant across the world, it involves a lack of access to sanitary products, menstrual education and hygiene and sanitation facilities necessary to properly manage menstruation.

Established in 2020, FLOW Pads is a non- profit organization which aims to eradicate period poverty in rural india, by spreading awareness about menstruation and distributing FLOW pads free of cost. We hope for every young menstruator to feel empowered and confident during their periods in order to reach their full potential.

The covid 19 pandemic in 2020, worsened the financial condition of rural menstruators making it harder for them to afford any sanitary products. In rural india , where households struggled to afford basic groceries even before the onset of COVID-19, people do not consider menstrual products as essential. This led to menstruators going back to using unsanitary and unhygienic practices of using old cloth/ ash/ rags etc.

That is when the idea of FLOW Pads was born, an initiative that provides menstruators in need with reusable pads while also educating them on menstrual health and hygiene.
